The 18th QC Council recently held its QC Council Website Orientation on public secondary schools in Quezon City. With the advancement of technology and immense use of the internet, the council members find it necessary to conduct such project in order to maximize the benefits of technology for a more effective and efficient legislation.
As part of the QC Child-Friendly Movement, the website orientation serves as one of the mechanisms of the council in reaching out to the public especially those in the grassroots level including the children and youth.
The QC Council Website was launched during the first quarter of 2012 to promote transparency and to nurture an informed citizenry. Likewise, council members consider this project as an avenue where the concerns of the people can be heard which could be used in the development of measures of the City Council.
Being part of the recent innovations of the council, the website orientation is seen as one of the tools in urging the public to actively participate in the legislative process. |
