The heroism of Melchora Aquino or more known as “Tandang Sora” is unique among our heroes whose titles and names are engraved in stone, recorded in books, and stories that are just remembered only by a few.

Her life story began like the most of us and above all these stories, the peak of her life revolves around on her vital role in the Revolution to attain freedom.

Compared to Jacinto, Bonifacio and Jose Rizal who are known for being the heroes who used their might and minds in the battle, the heroism of Tandang Sora is undeniably more admired because of her virtues in showing love for the country despite her age in the hardships during the persecution in the Spanish colonization. She put her life and resources at stake just to sustain the needs of the revolutionaries.

And through the efforts of the Quezon City Government, a 30-minute documentary film was made to highlight the milestones in the life of the Grand Woman of the Revolution as a tribute for her 200th Birth Anniversary. An exemplary of diligence, bravery, integrity, helping others, caring for others, by having empathy, a heartfelt generosity towards all, she remained honest to her patriotic aspiration. Through this documentary, let us deepen our understanding in reliving the legacy of Tandang Sora to fight and strive for our beloved country.
