
On June 15, 2016, the Quezon City Council welcomed around 80 legislative officials from different parts of the country who participated in the 50th installment of the Development Legislation Enhancement Course (DLEC), a training program for local legislators seeking to develop their legislative skills and to be oriented on local legislative work.
The course is offered by the Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG) of the University of the Philippines-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG).

The legislation course included a learning visit to the Quezon City Council,in which a brief presentation on the landmark ordinances and overall policymaking was shown, to allow participants to observe how the legislative affairs are managed and to gain insights on the best practices adopted by the Council which enabled the same to win the 2015 Local Legislative Awardconferred by the Department of Local and Interior Government (DILG) and Philippine Councilors League (PCL).
Among the participants are Vice Governors, Board Members, Vice Mayors, Councilors and Sanggunian Secretaries from nearby cities such as Caloocan, Manila and Bulacan, as well as from far flung LGUs such as Batanes, Basilan, Leyte and Sorsogon, among others.
The Quezon City Council also hosted the said activity last year.
