On the occasion of the Seventy Second Founding Anniversary of Quezon City, I congratulate Vice Mayor Ma Josefina G. Belmonte – Alimurung for her untiring effort and the unquestionable cooperation that she and her staff has shown in our effort to sustain the reform and development initiatives that we have put in place to make Quezon City – truly the Philippine City of Asia.

Her Ulat sa Bayan is a manifestation of the collaboration of the Executive and Legislative Departments. Policy making is an indispensable component of in the implementation of project, programs and activities that will spur even more economic activity, encourage responsible citizenship and stewardship and urban development, as well. Managing a megalopolis like Quezon City is no mean feat; it can not be done and achieved by one person alone.

Quezon City and its people can only move forward if we work together with a clear vision for the future, coupled with a common mission of uplifting the lives of those who need their self-worth and self-respect revived and push forward the city’s surge to continuing success and progress. We work as one team with one vision – failure is never an option.

I am pleased to be working with a passionate and dedicated Vice Mayor, her staff and members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod which has put a premium on delivering quality and relevant policies that will assist and guide the city government and the people of Quezon City
