LEGISLATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS
 
Milestone Legislation
  • SP-2894, S2019 AN ORDINANCE STRENGTHENING THE CHILD WELFARE AND PROTECTION OFFICE OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (SSDD) BY CREATING ADDITIONAL PLANTILLA POSITIONS.

       This is an Ordinance strengthening the Child Welfare and Protection Office by creating additional Plantilla Positions such as Social Welfare Officer II, Social Welfare Officer I, Social Welfare Assistant, Psychologist II, Psychometrician I, Social Welfare Aide, Administrative Aide IV (Clerk II), and Driver.
       This is in furtherance of Child-friendly Movement project of the Honorable Mayor Josefina Belmonte who seeks to activate and strengthen Quezon City towards becoming a child-friendly city with efficient and effective policies, programs, and projects for the well-being of children.

  • PO21CC-137 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. NC-85, S-89, ENTITLED, “ORDINANCE CONSOLIDATING THE PROVISIONS OF LIQUOR ORDINANCES AND INCORPORATING THE SAME INTO COMMON REGULATORY MEASURE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF,” THEREBY PROVIDING STIFFER PENALTIES THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

       This is an Ordinance that seeks to amend certain provisions concerning minors drinking liquors in public places, places of entertainment and business establishments, and providing stiffer penalties thereof.
       It prohibits any person to practice “tagay system” or sharing glass while having a drinking session in restaurants, bars, stores, saloons, pavilions and other similar places in Quezon City to avoid the spreading of virus.

  • SP-7973, S-2019 RESOLUTION URGING THE QUEZON CITY GOVERNMENT THRU MAYOR JOSEFINA G. BELMONTE TO ESTABLISH CHILDREN’S PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS IN EVERY DISTRICT OF QUEZON CITY.

       This Resolution urged Honorable City Mayor Josefina G. Belmonte to establish children’s parks and playgrounds in every district of Quezon City.
       This is in recognition of every child’s inherent rights for survival, development, protection and participation in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  • SP-7950, S-2019 RESOLUTION URGING THE QUEZON CITY GOVERNMENT THRU MAYOR JOSEFINA G. BELMONTE TO ESTABLISH MINI LIBRARIES WITH RECREATIONAL CENTER IN EVERY BARANGAY OF QUEZON CITY.

       This is a resolution urging the Quezon City Government thru Mayor Joy Belmonte to establish mini libraries with recreational center in every barangay, considering that public libraries are dynamic, socially responsive institutions, a nexus of diversity, and a lifeline for the most vulnerable among us. Thus, it is necessary to provide more venues to enhance the accessibility of books and encourage reading.

  • SP-2916, S-2020 AN ORDINANCE CONVERTING LEANDRO LOCSIN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL INTO LEANDRO LOCSIN INTEGRATED HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED IN BARANGAY KALIGAYAHAN, QUEZON CITY.

       This is a conversion under the Quezon City Schools Division Office of Leandro Locsin Senior High School into Leandro Locsin Integrated High School located at Barangay Kaligayahan, Quezon City, due to lack of Junior High School in the area.

  • PO21CC-336 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE INDISCRIMINATE AND IMPROPER DISPOSAL OF FACE MASKS AND OTHER COVID-19 PROTECTIVE GEARS AND PRODUCTS IN HOUSEHOLDS AND PUBLIC PLACES WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF QUEZON CITY AND PRESCRIBING PENATIES FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF. (Coun. Dorothy Delarmente and Coun. Shay Liban)

       This Ordinance is an anti-Covid-19 transmission that specifically prohibits and penalizes the indiscriminate and improper disposal in public places of used face masks and other protective gears and items such as face shields, hand gloves, and other PPEs, as well as disinfectant and hygiene products, wipes, tissues, rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizers.
       The Ordinance also provides provisions for proper disposal and penalties for violation thereof.

  • PO21CC-058 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING HOUSING BENEFITS TO ELIGIBLE SOLO PARENTS OF QUEZON CITY PURSUANT TO RA 8972, “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR BENEFITS AND PRIVILEGES TO SOLO PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.” Coun. Marivic Co-Pilar and Coun. Shay Liban

       This is an Ordinance providing housing benefits and privileges to solo parents and their children in recognition of their efforts and sacrifices in raising and rearing their children alone, considering that Housing program is a significant need for solo parent families as it provides them with shelter, safety and security.

  • PO21CC-086 AN ORDINANCE STRENGTHENING THE RECEPTION AND ACTION CENTER (RAC) AS TEMPORARY SHELTER FOR THE ABUSED WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (SSDD) BY CREATING ADDITIONAL PLANTILLA POSITIONS.

       This is an Ordinance providing for the Reception and Action Center (RAC) for purposes of special protection to the vulnerable and marginalized sectors that includes children, youth, women, elderly and Persons with Disabilities. The RAC which is located in the Social Development Center, Forestry St., Diamond Hills Subd., Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City, is a 24-hour residential facility of the Quezon City Government that will provide immediate temporary shelter and social intervention to displaced and disadvantaged individuals and groups while assessment and evaluation is being done by the social workers.

  • PO21CC-319AN ORDINANCE GRANTING HOUSING BENEFITS TO ELIGIBLE SOLO PARENTS OF QUEZON CITY PURSUANT TO RA 8972, “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR BENEFITS AND PRIVILEGES TO SOLO PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.” Coun. Marivic Co-Pilar and Coun. Shay Liban

  • PO21CC-321 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF FACE MASK WITH AN EXHALATION VALVE IN PUBLIC PLACES WITHIN QUEZON CITY TO HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS 2019 (COVID-19).

       This Ordinance is an anti Covid-19 transmission that prohibits the use of face mask with valve by any person outside of his residence.

  • RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE MAYOR MA. JOSEFINA G. BELMONTE TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE LYCEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES UNIVERSITY FOR THE GRANTING OF MASTERAL AND DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE QUEZON CITY GOVERNMENT AND THE QUEZON CITY UNIVERSITY.

       This resolution authorized Honorable Mayor Joy Belmonte to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Lyceum of the Philippines University for the granting of Masteral and Doctoral scholarships to officials and employees of the Quezon City Government and the Quezon City University.
       This is to to help Quezon City and Quezon City University employees enhance and strengthen their capabilities through graduate studies.
       The LPU-CMR-AAS will grant fifteen (15%) percent discount on tuition fees, 35% shall be shouldered by the concerned Quezon City officials, employees, Barangay officials, and Quezon City University officials and its employees, and the remaining 50% shall be shouldered by the Quezon City Government and Quezon City University.
